A Surgical Adventure!

              Welcome back My Dear Readers. It is Friday August 1st 2014. I am headed to Orange Coast Memorial for my surgery. Videos to post shortly. I will keep you posted.

After that, 1^st, video was shot I waited for my Para-Transit to arrive. It did not take long, and the trip from Home to Hospital took less than half an hour. Once at the hospital, I had to go through the registration process. Providing insurance information, next of kin, Durable Power of Attorney, and all that fun ‘Legal and Financial’ stuff. That passed rather quickly, as I always come prepared.

The next video was taken post registration and Pre ‘Pre-Op’. I am undressed, on the gurney that will take me to surgery, but not drugged…. Yet.

Now, the very next video was taken in the Preoperative ward of the hospital. I had to get ‘special’ permission to make the videos here, and in the Post Operative areas of the hospital. Thankfully the people at Memorial were very nice and completely cooperative with my filming this adventure in surgery.

The next video was taken just after they had me remove all clothes, jewelry and just prior to my IV and scans. This was, actually, taken just fifteen minuets prior to my surgery. I have yet to be given any medications, so I am still alert and… verbose.

Within fifteen minutes from when that video was made… I was under the knife. The surgery took just over one hour, and was a “complete success”. They removed the ‘growth’ and have sent it off to the labs, at Orange Coast Memorial, for evaluation. I will not have those results until the middle of next week. IN this next video… I am in a great deal of pain.

They had yet given me any post operative pain medications, and my right jaw is just killing me. Oh, FYI all of today’s videos were shot by Glen Allen Gay. He did a fabulous job, today, and my congrats on a job well done. Again, a big thanks to Orange Coast Memorial for allowing me to chronicle this adventure in surgery. I am now at home, resting comfortably… well… writing this article!

I hope to be back up and about after this weekend. The pain is pretty severe, so I am going to call this article DONE! Thanks for dropping by, I hope that you, My Dear Readers, have enjoyed this adventure in surgery!
