Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. I have to openly admit, this week was fraught with pain and problems! Mid-week I was struck with some terrific pain, all through my neck and into my arms and head. I tried sleeping it away, I tried soaking it away and all to no avail. Finally, I just settled in for a long hard ride and decided to do as little as I could around the house… … … and to let the blogs… sit. THAT was a very difficult decision, My Dear Shoevians.

.

After a seven month absence I was seeing traffic numbers, for a week’s time, up to One Hundred Nineteen!!! That translates to a yearly traffic of well over SIX THOUSAND!!!!! That is some serious traffic numbers to take to a publisher… with a truly original and touching novel in hand. It wasn’t easy but I took Tuesday and Wednesday off. I re-published my Hubble’s 25th Anniversary’ on Wednesday, then it happened.

.

This happens every six to eight months, at my location at blog dot com, the whole bloody web site just crashes! So, I wait and wait and wait. GONE for three days! I did not ‘see’ my primary blog location for three days, until today! So, here I am trying my hardest to play catch-up with the missed publication of the ‘Traffic Reports’ band now this ‘A Week in Review’. Now, I am tired and hurting all over again. But this will pass. I have to manage to finish this weekly review, and then publish ‘Sunday Funnies’ before it is no longer Sunday!

.

So, without further adieu, I give you ‘A Week in Review – May 10th, 2015’!

  • Sunday Funnies – Gryphon’s Premiere! – “Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. Today is a extra special edition of ‘Sunday Funnies’! Today I would like to ask you, My Dear Shoevians, to join me in Welcoming Gryphon D. Hannning (click on the hyperlink to go to Gryphon’s Facebook Page!) to this storied article series. As most of you are aware… … … Alexander R. Hanning passed away, several weeks ago, after a long battle with failing health. I made him as comfortable as possible, prepared all his favorite foods, and held him 24/7 for his comfort. He was loved deeply, and will be even more deeply missed. Last edition of ‘Sunday Funnies’ was a homage to Alexander.” This, My Dear Shoevians, was a very difficult article for me to write and publish. You see, it was an end, of sorts. An end to the era of Alexander R. Hanning as the star of ‘Sunday Funnies’ and the beginning of an all new era of Gryphon D. Hannning as the new star. I never do well with endings… of anything, but especially of the furry little ones I come to care for and love. There will never be a day… a time when I stop thinking of Alexander. He had that big an impact on my life, my work, my soul. It was Alexander that was at my side when I was diagnosed with cancer. It was Alexander that was at my side when I came home after chemotherapy. It was Alexander that stayed by my side when I got sick, and was there no matter what happened. However, this article was the premiere for another furry friend, Gryphon D. Hannning. This is Gryphon’s premiere video and premiere edition of ‘Sunday Funnies’. I hope that everyone stopped by to enjoy his premiere and his antics. Enjoy!

  • The Mars Report – May 4th, 2015 – “Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. Today marks the beginning of my third week back at; researching, writing, editing and publishing here at The Other Shoe. That is an important milestone for me, as just a few months ago (about mid-way through my chemotherapy treatments) I wondered if I would ever return to writing and publishing again. Well, not at all, what I mean is I doubted that I would ever again publish on a regular schedule again. Now, here I am two weeks past and over a dozen articles under my belt since my ‘The Rebirth and Re-Launch of The Other Shoe’ article of April 13th, 2015.” It was this Gargantuan edition of ‘The Mars Report’ that I think put me over the edge and into a world of hurt. The singles largest edition, with the most images, the most conetnet and the most science ever! If you haven’t looked at this edition, you should! Enjoy!

  • Lost in Space – Hubble’s 25th – Redux – “So good, worth republishing today! I’m taking a day of R&R, here’s a wonderful celebration of Hubble’s 25th anniversary. Enjoy! Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. Today is Wednesday April 22nd, 2015 and when I started the research for this article I quickly became aware that today is the 25th Anniversary of the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope! What a glorious day to pay tribute to this wonder of the modern age, by sharing some of the most recent images captured by Hubble.” With the pain in my neck reaching new levels of blinding pain, I decided to give myself a day to rest and recover. Little did I know that the primary blog location would take this opportunity to go AWOL! Nevertheless, this edition is/was worth republishing, so I did! ENJOY!

  • Traffic Reports – May 7th, 2015 “Now that I have the news out of the way, let me get to the meat of this article. As many of you, My Dear Shoevians, know about every six months I publish a ‘Traffic Report’. Now, I do this for many reasons, not the least of which is that I enjoy sharing the limited success of my writing. Yes, I work hard at; research, writing, editing and publishing at The Other Shoe. When I see the traffic counter on the Blog Dot com location stay over one hundred for a week or more… YES I am very very proud! That has occurred over the past two weeks.” This was a very enlightening edition of ‘Traffic Reports’. Whereas I did see the corresponding decline in readership during my chemotherapy, if you don’t publish new content, readers go elsewhere, that is a given. However, there is ‘Good News’ in this report, too! Good news in the discovery of even more expanded international readership! THAT is very ‘Good News’ indeed! If you need a reason to read this article, learning that My Dear Shoevians live in; England, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands and evern RUSSIA should do the trick, eh? Read and be informed!

.

That, My Dear Shoevians, brings us to the end of this article and the end of the week’s publishing. I hope that everyone takes some time, out of your Sunday, to go back and read and view some of the wonderful work and images I shared this past week. Again, I apologize for the absence, made even longer by the down time at the primary blog location. I am back, and I have a “Sunday Funnies’ yet to publish, today.

.

I regret to inform you that this week is my ‘Quarterly Visit To L.A.’ and my primary care physician, Dr. Laurence Gorlick. This journey into L.A., and back, takes a great deal out of me. It is a journey that takes, Allen and I, more than twelve hours of transit van rides to get into Rancho Palos Verde, and back here to Orange County. I will do my best to keep up my writing schedule, I just cannot make any promises I might not keep.

.

Thank you!

.

Adieu!

Traffic Reports - May 7th, 2015

[caption id="attachment_3844" align="aligncenter" width="225"]Danny Hanning Danny Hanning[/caption]

.

Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. This has been a very painful week for me, My Dear Shoevians. Heck, I am always in pain, in my neck or back, down my arms into my hands, or the back of my head into my cervical spine. The last neurosurgeon I saw told me, pint blank, “Mr. Hanning, you will be in pain for the rest of your life. I cannot do anything about that, and any neurosurgeon that tells you they can… you should run away fast!”

.

I am extremely fortunate that I have Dr. Laurence Gorlick as my primary care physician and internal medicine doctor. He keeps me supplied in pain medications, and every few years increases the dosage or changes the medication. Without him, and his assistance with my pain, I am not sure I would still be alive. Nevertheless, it is because of this pain that I have not been writing and publishing, this week, as much as I want… or have managed since the re-launch of this blog.

.

However, there is ‘Good News’ on two fronts. One, I am feeling a little better and have pulled my laptop near to my bed and am working on a couple of articles for this week, this one included. Second, I should be ready to announce the expansion of The Other Shoe! As I write this article I am working to upload my article base to another blog location at Blogspot! The addy will be www.theothersshoe.blogspot.com Once it is up and running, I will post an introductory article at my existing blog locations.

.

Now that I have the news out of the way, let me get to the meat of this article. That has occurred over the past two weeks.

.

Yesterday, Tuesday May 6th, 2015 the counter showed 113, today it showed 109. Unfortunately, I did not get a screenshot of the page with the counter in the 100’s. Now, I am trying to get the page up… and of course there is a problem my blog location at blog dot com loading. This has occurred every since I started this blog location, it is the oldest and my first location for The Other Shoe. When ever my traffic gets to around 100 a week, or more, the blog goes dead. I fear it is because it is a free blog webs server, and when traffic gets rather high they choke the server to my blog. This was the very reason I started the secondary location at Word Press.

.

You know what, though? The funniest thing happened when I started the second blog location. I attracted an all new group of readers! The Other Shoe at Word Press has SIXTY individuals that read my work just at the Word Press location! This adds to my overall traffic, and is the reason behind me adding the all new location at Blogspot. I aspire to be a published author. A novelist, hopefully. The way I look at it is like this; if I walk in to a publisher’s office with a well written, and edited, novel and show that I have hundreds, if not thousands, of people reading my blog writing each and every month? That greatly increases my chances they will pay attention to my work, and me!

.

Enough of everything else, and on with this years Traffic Report! I am very proud to share the results for this past month, and the past year, for both blog locations. If you are one of my long time readers, then you will know that I usually have traffic number for one of my blog locations, at Blog Dot Com. Today, I am thrilled to be able to share traffic numbers for both my Blog Dot Com and Word Press locations! So, when you are looking at these images with the numbers showing, remember to add the numbers from both sites to get a better idea just how big the community is you blong to My Dear Shoevians!

.

Below is the very first image of this traffic report. It shows the traffic to The Other Shoe at Blog Dot Com, which I will refer to as Number One Blog hereafter. Number Two Blog will be the location at Word Press. The first several image will all relate to traffic at Number One Blog. In this first image we can see that over the past thirty days I had; 314 unique visitors, with 435 sessions and 683 page views. That means that, in the past thirty days, I have averaged ten unique visitors a day, that they have read about two pages, each, and have about 121 people that came back for another visit.

.

Now, I am sure that most of my readers here in America (and Texas) imagine that all of my readers are in America and/or Texas. If only this were true, it would be much easier to write for this blog. Nope my blog(s), both, have an international readership! This blog is read in; America, England, Italy, the Netherlands, Australia, and Russia just to name a few. The image, directly below, is a color map showing readership as shades of blue. The darker the blue, the more readers.

The next image below is a breakdown, by country, in numbers. This shows how many readers have visited the Number One Blog location in the past month, by country.

.

[caption id="attachment_4029" align="aligncenter" width="630"]Number One Blog International Readers Numbers Number One Blog International Readers Numbers[/caption]

(Number One Blog International Readers Numbers)

.

289- America, 19 United Kingdom, 15 Canada, 11 India, 10 the Netherlands, 10 Germany, 5 for Australia Poland and Russia… in one month! Man, the very first time I looked at the international numbers at Google Analytics? I about fell out of my chair! To understand/realize that my work is read in; England, Germany, France, Russia, and the Netherlands! Just bows me away! I am so very flattered that My Dear Shoevians span the globe! Thank you my foreign readers… THANK YOU!

.

Now, all of the images and numbers, above, are for the month from April 6th, 2015 to May 7th, 2015. However, one month at any given time does not really give us an accurate view of my readership. Therefore, the next several images and numbers are for the time period between April 6th, 2014 to May 7th, 2015, one year. Now, My Dear Shoevians, I would like everyone to keep in mind that during this time period I was (for all intents and purposes) down during my chemotherapy and for a couple of months afterward. So, that means that these numbers represent about six months of actual publication.

.

First, the image below shows all traffic to the Number One Blog for one year.

.

[caption id="attachment_4033" align="aligncenter" width="630"]Number One Blog One Year By Month Number One Blog One Year By Month[/caption]

.

You can clearly see the flat-line from October 2014 until February 2015. This is my chemotherapy and recovery time. What I wouldn’t have given for another writer… I asked a few people I know and respect their work. I understand and accept that they were unable to help. Below, is the same information dump, but this time it is all in numbers.

.

[caption id="attachment_4031" align="aligncenter" width="630"]Number One Blog – One Year – By Numbers Number One Blog – One Year – By Numbers[/caption]

(Number One Blog – One Year – By Numbers)

.

*Sigh* This shows that, over the past year, Number One Blog has been visited 3,550 times by 2,303 readers viewing 5,367 pages. Depressingly this is way down from my 2013-2014 yearly stats. As I remember, the last time, I saw over 4,500 visitors with 5,600 sessions and over 7,000 page views. I knew when I went into chemotherapy, that there would be a loss of readership. However, I do not think I could ever be prepared for these statistics. I know that there are a lot of you, My Dear Shoevians, that are very happy to be a part of this large a readership.

.

I am very happy to provide reading material and images and political and social editorials. I am very proud to have the readership that I see above. I apologize… it was just depressing, for me. I will run this article, again, in October of this year. I know that the numbers will be much better then, and when I publish it again in May of next year.

.

Now we have finished the traffic reports for The Other Shoe at Blog Dot Com (aka Number One Blog). For the rest of this article I will present the traffic reports for the Number Two Blog, which is The Other Shoe at Word Press. This blog location has only been around for the past three years. Three years out of the four that the primary blog location has been up and running. As I explained, above, I started the Number Two Blog due to the frequent problems with Number One Blog crashing (as it is right now as I write this article). However, when I started publishing at Word Press a wonderful thing happened. I gained an all-new readership! I am thrilled that I now have two readerships one for each of the blog locations.

.

Due to the problems at the primary blog location, this article will likely only appear at the Word Press location, initially. I apologize to all my regular readers at Blog Dot Com, but there is nothing I can do when the primary blog location is crashing, as it is right now.The first image, below, shows the taffic for one month at the Number Two Blog.

.

[caption id="attachment_4026" align="aligncenter" width="630"]Number Two Blog One-Month Numbers Number Two Blog One-Month Numbers[/caption]

.

The graphic shows that, over the past thirty days, this location has seen; 252 unique readers that have engaged in 252 sessions and read 376 pages of content. Compared to the primary location having: 314 unique readers that have engaged in 435 sessions reading 685 pages. The next image shows international readers for the same one month period of time.

.

This shows that visitors break down as: 132 = America, 9 = China, 7 = Japan, 6 = the Netherlands, 5 = Germany & Russia. Hummm, at both blogs Germany has FIVE unique visitors. That is pretty darn interesting. Nest image is a map showing the distribution of readers. The darker the blue color, the more readers in that country.

This shows that The Other Shoe at Word Press has enjoyed; 596 unique readers with 629 sessions reading 754 pages of content. My Dear Shoevians this gives us are total, between the two locations, of; 2,899 readers with 4,179 sessions reading 6,121 pages read.

.

(Number Two Blog International One Year)

.

The above featured graphic shows international numbers for the Number Two Blog. This shows a breakdown of readers as; 214 American, 37 = China, 37 = Russia, 19 Japan, and 11 South Korea. I know each and every time I look at these numbers… these international numbers I am just blown away! That, in one year, nearly two hundred people in England read my blog!@ Now, all I want to do is to increase these international numbers, and increase the number of people all around the world that read my work. That would be awesome!

.

Now, My Dear Shoevians, for the final image of this article and the final statistic from the traffic reports. This image shows the number of “Active” readers at the primary blog location. The top line in for the past thirty days, and the bottom line shows just the last day.

.

[caption id="attachment_4027" align="aligncenter" width="630"]Number One Bog ‘Active’ Readers One Day – One Month Number One Bog ‘Active’ Readers One Day – One Month[/caption]

(Number One Bog ‘Active’ Readers One Day – One Month)

.

At the highest point, April 26th2015, there were 460 (in one month) active readers and only 14 in one day. Fourteen in one day is nothing to hang your head in shame. That would equal 98 a week, roughly 400 a month and 4,800 a year! That is a good showing! Why I included this, was to show just how much the traffic has dropped, sue to my absence for my chemotherapy. Now that is behind me, I am hoping that I can keep up my weekly publishing schedule of 4-7 articles a week.

.

That about sums it up for this edition of Traffic Reports for The Other Shoe(s). I am hoping to awake, tomorrow (Friday May 8th) with much less pain and deliver a (late but better than not) edition of Lost in Space’. You can look forward to ‘A Week in Review’ this Saturday and on Sunday an all new edition of ‘Sunday Funnies’!

.

Finally, “Thank you!” to all my domestic and international readers. I am moved by your readership and flattered by your loyalty to my work.

.

Thank you!

.

Adieu!

INTERNATIONAL Traffic August - September 2014

[caption id="attachment_2868" align="aligncenter" width="225"]Danny Hanning of The Other Shoe - May 6th, 2014 Danny Hanning of The Other Shoe - May 6th, 2014[/caption]

.

Welcome back My Dear Readers to The Other Shoe. Now, My Dear Readers, I have always wrote and published for the largest possible audience. Seems to me that the greatest accomplishment for a writer, of any kind, is to have their work read by the largest possible audience. Sure, Domestic audiences are great, it is gratifying to have the people you grew up with read and like your work. Although, the greatest test of a writer’s chops (it would seem to me… as logical) would be so demonstrate that one’s work has international appeal. If you, My Dear readers, have been a long-time reader of this blog, what I am about to publish will be rather familiar.

.

Every so often I go to Google Analytics(for traffic numbers on The Other Shoe at blog dot com) and the Traffic Analysis for Word Press and check to see… well, what IS my ‘International Appeal’? Quite good, as a matter of fact! As I look over this past month’s international numbers I quickly see that my reach abroad is the highest level ever! Not only is my blog read in more countries, than ever before, but more people are reading my blog in these countries. There are two sets of numbers, one for each blog location. As I present the images of the report(s) I will give a brief explanation of the image you are about to view.

.

Now, one salient fact that might come in handy. If you are having problems seeing the; numbers, country names, or any other old fact or number? Go over the the secondary blof location, over at Word Press (www.theothersshoe.wordpress.com). Once there, click on the image you hare having difficulty reading or seeing. Once clicked the blog will being up a larger image that is (generally) easier to read and see. This is true for all articles, and all images regardless of the article. That is a good factoid to keep in mind, My Dear readers, for future reference.

.

Our first image for today is from the traffic report from The Other Shoe at Word Press (www.theothersshoe.wordpress.com) for the month between August 29th and September 24th, 2014. In this image each day’s traffic is represented by a vertical line, with a dark bar inside a lighter bar. The light blue bar represents the numbers of views and the darker blue bar represents the number of individual visitors. When the bar, for a certain day, has a larger light blue area, that means that each visitor viewed and read several pages or posts. Conversely, when the darker blue bar takes up the majority of the lighter blue bar, that means that each visitor read only one or two pages or posts. By ‘Best’ day, shown in this graphic, was this past Thursday September 25th, 2014. On that day I had thirty-eight visitors and they viewed a total of Seventy-Seven pages or posts. Meaning that each and every visitor viewed/read at least two pages or posts. That was a ‘Good Day’ for my secondary blog location at Word Press.

.

.

Now, I only copied two report pages, for The Other Shoe at Word Press this month. Our next image, for my Word Press location, show the International Traffic! This is the most important information, for the purposes of this article. As I explained, above, I genuinely believe that the true measure of a writer is his broader appeal. A writer whose work is read in a great many nations, countries, has demonstrated greater ability via broader appeal. It is very easy to write for just one geographic area, one mindset, and one group of people. Far more difficult is to refine and enhance one’s writing abilities to reach/entertain larger and larger groups of people. I am hoping that publishers understand and appreciate this ability, too! J Below, a color graphic of the world with areas colored in where my blogs was read. The lower part of the graphic gives us a number break-down, by country, of just how many visitors per nation or country.

That brings us to the end of the information and graphics I have to share for the secondary blog location for The Other Shoe (www.theothersshoe.wordpress.com). If you have any questions, or comments, place them in the ‘Comments’ section of this article. As I monitor all threads and articles I will get back to you ASAP and do my best to answer any questions and/or respond to any/all comments/suggestions.

.

Now, on with the primary location for my blog The Other Shoe (www.theothershoe.blog.com). Here, My Dear Readers, I am forced to admit. Admit that my secondary blog location is actually the busier location of the two. My primary blog location, at this time, just does not have as much/more visit or visitors as the secondary location. This is troubling, to me, for more reasons that one. The primary location has been active for more than four years. I have invested far more money in advertising and publicity for the primary location. More articles, longer web presence, and more $$$ spent on ads and promotions should equal the busier blog. It just is not the way. ‘The best laid plans of mouse and men’. Right?

.

The very first image, for this blog location, is the overall traffic for the blog for the month ending September 25th, 2014. I would like to make on fact well known. During the past month (past TWO months, past three months, past year) my primary location has been DOWN more days/weeks than I care to count. This blog location has real difficulties staying up! Within any given month I would have to say, honestly, there are at least ten to twelve days that the nlog is inaccessible! This is very discouraging and upsetting. As well, each and every time I go to run a funding campaign? It seems like the blog location goes down more often and for longer! My Dear Readers, this is the reason I have (often) spoken of getting my OWN URL, Web Hosting, and Blog software and leaving blog dot com behind! However, right now I am having terrible difficulties just trying to raise funds to Battle My CANCER!

.

That battle… and the fund raiser for getting my own blog location, hosting and software will have to just come another day… maybe a long long time away… L Right now, the next graphic shows the overall traffic at blog dot com for the month ending September 25th, 2014.

Now, for the International traffic numbers! As with my secondary blog location, one can clearly and easily see that my work is read in nearly a dozen nations! It is with a great deal of pride that I share this information! Below, International Traffic as represented in a color graphic of the world.

.

My Dear Readers, those are the graphics and numbers I came here tonight to share. However, I want to make sure that everyone understands WHY I am sharing this information. It is NOT to ‘brag’! I know that some will think that regardless of what I say or write. Let me tell you the truth of the WHY I share these graphics and numbers.

.

I want you, My Dear Readers, to understand that you are part of an international community! That each and every time you come and read my work, you make yourself a part of an international audience. You become a part of a larger whole, and take a step away from being a pawn of just American news and information. In essence you take s step towards being a citizen of the world!

.

You are exposing yourself to material that has an international audience. In doing you graduate from being a domestic consumer and begin the journey towards being an international citizen/consumer. It has taken me many years to develop a style of writing, a stable of regular articles, and a library of works that have the international appeal. This is a ‘Good Thing’. Being a part of a larger world, and an international community is an enviable trait and one that will serve you well for years and decades to come.

.

That is my reason for gathering and sharing this information to all of you, My Dear Readers. Conversely to sharing this information, I could just gather the information, save the graphics to my hard drive, and view time and time again, alone. That is not who I am. I am a “gregarious person” just as a very good old friend was quoted saying about me. I have, always, sought to be a player in a larger audience. I would much rather be ‘A little fish in a big pond’ than ‘A big fish in a little pond’. Not a lot o people… well, a majority of people seek out the opportunity to be the big fish in a little pond’.

.

Further, people that are born in; smaller towns, smaller communities, in less populated states often cherish their status in the ‘smaller pond’ rather than moving to another state and/or a metropolitan setting. Challenging themselves, and their abilities, against large numbers of equally talented and educated people in these larger states, communities and metropolitan settings. I think this is why I left for Southern California just as soon as I was able, and why I kept returning. I am very proud that I was; the #1 Leasing Agent for a large Beverly Hills property Management company, the #1 Pharmacy Technician for a very large hospital (996 beds) in a metropolitan city.

.

Until; my severe accident, my nerve root damage, my spinal stenosis, my loss of use of left hand/arm and left leg, and now my battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I, continually, set my self in contest with larger and larger communities. While I was working as a Property Manager (of Three Properties) in Beverly Hills? During my off time I competed in National Ladder Tournaments in PC-FPS gaming. During the summer of 2002 I placed (for two weeks) as #1 in a National Ladder Tournament For F.E.A.R. on Gamespy. I missed a whole ten , of competition, due to leaving Westwood for Northern California to train Leasing Agents at another property. Even with missing ten days of competition? By the end of the Tournament I placed #7 (down from THREE WEEKS at #1) competing against hundreds of other (younger) FPS players! Accomplished while managing three properties ALONE and training ‘new’ Leasing Agents all over California from Walnut Creek to San Diego.

.

So, My Dear Readers, I think that you can (now) understand why I place incredible demands on myself… now in writing. However, no matter how well I write… IF I am unable to afford to fight, battle and BEAT my Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma? My international appeal as a blog writer… is of little consequence. That is WHY I continue to; ask, request, beseech, implore and (yes, even) BEG for YOUR Donations and SUPPORT! My funding campaign, Danny’s Cancer Treatment Fund @ Indiegogo IS my way of securing the financial support that is required to battle and BEAT THIS CANCER!

.

Without your, My Dearest Readers, SUPPORT my writing will halt. My days will be numbered, and none of us will know what great works I might have brought into this world! That is WHY this WEEKEND I WILL be WORKING this Campaign just as HARD and INTENSLY as POSSIBLE! If you have already donated? THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! If you have NOT? WHY? PLEASE take a moment and LOOK at the images, READ the ‘Mission Statement’, Doctor’s reports, PATHOLOGY Reports and CONSIDER CAREFULLY! PLEASE?

.

My life is in YOUR, My Dearest Readers, merciful HANDS! I beseech YOU! To PLEASE take a moment and PLEASE DONATE to my campaign to raise the funds I desperately NEED to fight… to BATTLE this Cancer… and WIN! With YOUR HELP I CAN BEAT THIS CANCER!

.

Adieu!

.

Thank YOU!

A Week In Review - January 20th, 2014

Welcome back My Dear Readers to The Other Shoe. Today is Monday January 20th, 2014. As many of you, that know me on Facebook, know I have been away from The Other Shoe and Facebook due to growing pain; in my neck and left hand. Quite honestly, I had very much hoped that I would physically be able to rejoin all of you, MY Dear Readers, this weekend. Much to my dismay, I was not able to achieve any relief from my pain. Today, I contacted my doctor’s office and they have called my pharmacy to release extra pain medications for me.

.

I am just waiting for Allen to get home and go and retrieve the medications… then I should be able to knock down my level of pain with extra drugs. I am hoping that, on Tuesday February 4th, my doctor will finally ‘see the light’ and move me from my current pain medications up to another level of pain relief. I have been dancing around the topic, for more than six months. Tuesday, I am going to just put it blu8ntly… explain the level of pain in my left hand and the increased pain in my neck… along with the popping and grinding in my upper cervical spine… and hope and pray he finally increases my medication so that I can find relief.

.

Today I am going to publish this short ‘A Week in Review’ and then I am going to start on my (much anticipated) article on Governor Christie and ‘Brdigegate’ and the newest allegations by the Mayor of Hoboken. Rest assured, I am going to get my two cents in on the antics of Governor Christie, prior to his ouster.

.

I am so very sorry that this past week was a very light week of publications. Honestly, I am still surprised that I took a bite at the violence that plagues women’s reproductive rights in America. My Dear Readers, did you know that only in America do abortion doctors and health care workers in clinics providing reproductive services for women come under violent attacks sometimes resulting in death?

Only in America!

.

Now, without further adieu, here is ‘A Week in Review’:

.

  • Sunday Funnies January 12, 2014 : “Welcome back My Dear Readers to The Other Shoe. Well, I did it. I manage to bring you, My Dear Readers, a full week of articles and two of my ‘regular features’. With the publication of this edition of ‘Sunday Funnies’ I finish out a very full and productive week. For those of you that have read this week’s articles, you know that three of the articles this week were rather expansive. Weighing in, as Word documents, at twelve and fourteen pages each they are some of the most lengthy works I have published in some time. Seems I had a lot to say.” This was Alex’s very first video and ‘Sunday Funnies’ in several months. He was very happy to get that Christmas present, and is still eating those treats. Alex does the most amazing and entertaining things almost daily. It is my shortcoming that I do not have more and more videos of his antics. I am working to keep my phone charged and handy, so that I might be able to catch more of his antics and bring them to you, My Dear Readers.

  • January 13th, 2014 Traffic Reports : “I am much happier with the year-end traffic totals for my primary blog location The Other Shoe at blog.com. With 2,105 visits by 650 unique visitors racking up 4,195 page views in just twelve months my primary location wins hands down. Now let’s combine the yearly totals of the two blog locations. I am proud to announce, that in the twelve months of 2013, my combined total visits is… (drum roll, please)… … … 3,672! That, roughly, equated to ten visits each and every day for one whole year.” With 4,600 page views by nearly 4,000 visitors from FIFTY nations… well, I would call that a huge success for myself and The Other Shoe. I promoted this article for several days, I really wanted EVERYONE to see the success that my blog is enjoying, all around the world. I was not as surprised by the number of page views, or the number of visitors I receive here at The Other Shoe. I reguarlly check Google Analytics for my traffic numbers, so I had a pretty good idea that I had broken the 4,600 mark in page views and nearly hit 4,000 visitors. The fact that my blog is read in fifty nations, THAT took me by surprise. If you looked at the breakdown, you could see that in Germany I I had several dozen visitors, the same was true in; England, Italy, France and Greece. I am overjoyed that people around the world enjoy my blog. As a matter of fact, IF you are reading this blog posting outside America? WELCOME and Thank you for visiting The Other Shoe!

  • The ‘Other’ Side of Anti-Abortion Activism : “Welcome back My Dear Readers to The Other Shoe. First, I would like to say “Thank you!” To everyone that has made this blog the success that I it is today. As I mentioned, in my last article, this blog has received over 4,000 visitor from fifty nations world-wide in just the past two years. I know that I have yet to break into the filed with the ‘Big Boys’ but I am really making a showing for a one-man blog. In the coming weeks, months and year I hope to continue to bring you quality articles that both enlighten and entertain.” Now, I understand that the majority of you, My Dear Readers, are men. I can look at and read site statistics like anyone else. However, I am trying to bring more women readers to my blog… AND violence against women, and violence against health care workers in the field of women’s reproductive health is EVERYONE’S concern… not just women. I was quite honestly shocked by the level of violence that I discovered when I began to research this article. I had no idea that there were 188 arsons, and EIGTH DEATHS of workers in women’s reproductive clinics. I have always, and will always, support a women’s right to choose. I hope and pray that they choose to give birth, but I respect their right and their decisions. I hope that this article gets more traction over time. I really do believe that more MEN need to be made aware of the incredible violence that has become a daily part of working to protect a women’s right to choose, and working in the field of women’s reproductive health.

.

That, My Dear Readers, brings us to the end of this edition of “A Week in Review’ here at The Other Shoe. It was a light week, in terms of publication. I hope that everyone understands the incredible pain I suffer with, and accepts that sometimes… well, I just cannot get my hands to work well enough to write and publish.

.

That never means that I am not thinking of you, My Dear Readers. You are always on my mind. I hope that I do get more pain medications, today. If I do, then I am going to work to bring a full week’s worth of content to you, this week. Having you as My Dear Readers I understand is a privilege that come with responsibility. I have a responsibility, to you My Dear Readers, to work hard to provide you with new and fresh content on a regular basis.

.

I promise that I will do everything that is within my power, to do just that… bring you new and fresh content on a regular basis. Your time is valuable to me… as is your patronage to this blog.

.

As always I am deeply horoed that you come here and read my work.

.

Thank you!
